Ian Poulter may have bounced back to form with a superb joint runner-up finish at the Players Championship, but he will likely care to forget his shanked second shot to the 72nd hole in a hurry!
A shank is when the club makes contact with the ball on the hosel and sends the ball squirting well right of the initial target - as Poulter found out when forced to take a drop with his third shot from the trees. Okay, he did nearly hole out for par with one of the shots of the week!
But it's not the first time Poults has fallen foul of the shank. He did the unmentionable in Dubai earlier this season. Watch here.
