#1 - THERE ARE COACHING MYTHS

You may be surprised that I’m starting off with a contradiction but this is my favourite.

It seems to have become normal for what we might call old school teaching methods and advice to be criticised, and the expression "hurt more people than helped” is thrown around a lot these days.

If that was the case for all of these coaching "myths", rest assured they wouldn’t have endured for so many years.

Because people employ so many different ways of swinging golf clubs, you can be sure that any tip ever given has helped some golfers.

The most important is firstly to not misunderstand what is being suggested, and secondly, to be sure it is appropriate for your technique.

Let me use the next four common so called myths to build on that and show you what I mean.
