7. TIDY UP AFTER YOURSELF

When your ball hits the green with an approach shot, the flight of the ball and the ground conditions will tend to leave a mark on the putting surface.

Repair any mark your approach shots make - and any others you find, ensuring your efforts won't disrupt the roll of the other players putts on the green.

Remember, however, the Rules don't allow you to repair spike marks on the line of your or your playing partner's line of intended putt or an extension of it - which leads us nicely into our next bit of advice.
