Fancy a lesson with Colin Montgomerie? The seven times Volvo Order of Merit champion and Ryder Cup hero is attached to the Westin Turnberry Hotel and every year heads up a links golf school at his Ayrshire Academy. This year it takes place from August 29-31.

Coaching at Hawkstone Park.

Hawkstone Park Hotel has launched a two-day golf school, on the fairways where former Open and US Masters champion Sandy Lyle once learned to play. It combines an overnight stay with an intensive learning experience for all abilities.

Says head professional Stuart Leech: "We are committed to helping enthusiastic golfers improve their individual skills. Incorporating an overnight stay means we are able to devise the perfect learning environment."

Teaching takes place on a group basis – from beginners to intermediate and low handicap players at the hotel’s Academy course and on the driving range. It includes video analysis, chipping, putting and Rules sessions. The first day features individual video analysis, chipping, bunker play and an interactive rules session, followed by putting, pitching, the long game, and course management on day two.
