Callaway has unveiled its new Mack Daddy Forged Wedge, designed by master craftsman Roger Cleveland.
Forged from 1025c steel, it has a Tour-inspired shape, with a squarer toe, less offset and straighter leading edge.
The 16-groove configuration features a new groove at the bottom, close to the leading edge, for “added stopping power, especially on pitches and chips”.
The R sole grind is designed to prosper on all playing surfaces and grass types, with a mid bounce and crescent design.
Progressive CG positioning offers increased control, with the CG moving upwards with the increase in loft.
“Roger’s unique talent for working with Tour Pros and understanding the nuances of what they want in a wedge’s look, feel and performance is unparalleled,” said Dr. Alan Hocknell, Callaway senior vice president of R&D. “That, and his extraordinary knowledge of all that’s necessary to bring a wedge from initial concept to finished club, is what makes the new Mack Daddy Forged Wedges ultra-premium.”
