Swede Henrik Stenson earned another win for the Srixon Z-Star balls when he claimed the prestigious The Players Championship at Sawgrass - recognised as golf 'fifth major.' The victory launches him four places to No.5 in the world rankings.

Stenson (33), who trailed Alex Cejka by five shots at the start of the final round but won with a bogey-free 66, started using the ball at the Scottish Open last year and has played it since to win the Omega Mission Hills World Cup of Golf (with Robert Karlsson) and theNedbank Golf Challenge in Southern Africa.

The three-layer Z-Star ball has a urethane cover and 324-dimple design and Stenson claims it gives him the extra spin he needs from his lofted irons and reduced spin off the driver face, with a relatively high trajectory.

Stenson also used Srixon I-506 forged irons with True Temper Dynamic Gold X-100 shafts that are five-eighths of an inch longer than standard and are 1.5 degrees upright to accommodate his 6ft 1-inch frame in his FootJoy Classic shoes.

"I like to hit my 3-wood a lot, and that club just matches perfectly around here, a little right-to-left shape," said Stenson. "I had the ball in great position and it's easy to play from there."

Holding off the challenges of Ian Poulter and Tiger Woods, Stenson also gave credit to his Yes! Golf Donna putter, which he has had in his bag since last year.
