Cobra Golf is currently riding the crest of a wave, despite the loss of Geoff Ogilvy to sister company Titleist. In the last three weeks, it has had two important winners, with Colombian Camillo Villegas following up Ian Poulter's matchplay triumph by taking the Honda Classic on the US PGA Tour.
Villegas used a Cobra S9-1 Pro S driver, Cobra Speed LD FST fairway woods and Cobra Pro CB Forged irons for his third title, while 12th placed JB Holmes one of the longest hitters on the circuit, used a new 9.5 degree Cobra S2 driver, with which he averaged 303.5 yards off the tee.
Despite his slight frame, superb driving with the S9-1 Pro S has powered Villegas to second place on the PGA Tour driving distance statistics with an average drive of over 300yards. He also hit three out of four greens in regulation during the week using his favoured Titleist ProV1 ball. It completes a stella month for the kid from Bogota, who finished third place at the WGC Accenture Match-Play and eighth place at the Phoenix Open.
He's now 12th in the world rankings - a jump of nine places.
