Padraig Harrington has re-signed with Wilson Golf in a multi-year deal that will see him continue to play the brand’s clubs on both the PGA and European Tours.

The Irishman first signed with Wilson in 1998 and went on to win three majors in 13 months, including back-to-back Open Championships in 2007 and 2008. During his 15 years playing with Wilson Staff clubs, he has amassed more than €22million (£18million) in prize money and won 26 tournaments worldwide.

The 41-year-old will continue to play with the Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons that helped him shoot his lowest round as a professional when he carded a 61 at this year’s Transitions Championship and also claim the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in October.

Building on impressive showings at this year’s Masters, where he tied for eighth, and US Open – tied-fourth – Harrington will also be using the new FG Tour TC wedges featuring Traction Control technology and the new D-100 hybrids in his Pro Tour bag, whilst continuing to feature the Wilson Staff logo on his headwear.

“I can always rely on Wilson Staff clubs when it really matters and the support I get out on the Tour is second to none,” says Harrington, who first used a Gene Sarazen Wilson 5-iron when he was just five years of age.

“I love the feel and control I get from the irons and I’m sure they will continue to serve me well next year.”

Harrington will also continue in his role as a Wilson Staff Advisory Member, helping with the development of clubs for the brand that has delivered an unrivalled number of Major wins with its irons (61) and wedges (82).

Wilson has also re-signed the services of talented 24-year-old Danish player Andreas Hartø in a multi-year deal ahead of his return to the European Tour in 2013.

The Wilson Staff Advisory Member, who won this year’s D+D Real Czech Challenge Open and recorded eight other top ten finishes on the Challenge Tour, will continue to play with the FG Tour V2 irons that helped him to a third-place finish in the overall rankings and re-qualification for the European Tour at the first attempt.

“The Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons have played a big part in my success and I’m really looking forward to using them again on the European Tour,” said Hartø, who first signed with Wilson Golf in 2010 after becoming the fastest player to win two Challenge Tour titles.
