Ping clubs for women

Plus clothing styles from Ping Collection and Glenmuir

Ping has unveiled a Rhapsody series of golf clubs for women, from the lightweight, high-launching Rhapsody driver (above left) to the forgiving, easy-to-swing Rhapsody irons (above right).

The 460 cc driver (with 12-, 24 and 126-degree loft options) claims to provide increased distance and accuracy. using an ultra-lite graphite shaft in two regular flexes, priced at £239. Rhapsody fairway woods coming in four lofts (from 18- to 30 degrees)

The perimeter weighted, wider soled Rhapsody irons deliver a higher-launch at £75 per club (Steel) or £90 each (graphite). Grahptie=shafted Rhapsody fairway woods are available four loft options costing £165, while hybrids (26-, 30- and 34-degrees), cost £114 with a steel shaft and £129 for graphite.

Meanwhile Ping Collection, the clothing arm of the famous brand has launched its Spring/Summer fashions for 2008 and included the elegant slimline Jazz - a turtle neck top made from a flexible fabric to ensure freedom of movement.

The makers claim it's light, soft and crease free and can be folded into a pocket. It has removable sleeves and is available in black and mango priced at £50.

Glenmuir style 2008

Glenmuir is also updating its Ladies’ Collection with Freshwater, Tropical and Sunset Beach colours including the Danby Dry-Tech thermal zip fleece and Whitby Dry-Tech sleeveless zip fleece in light blue.

Others in the collection include three wind shirts - a Forth gilet (£42), Tallow long sleeve (£46) and Auckland half sleeve (£37) in light blue and citrus and stretch cotton shirts (£37) in paradise blue, fuschia and burnt orange. The Forres cotton twill visor comes in five new colours - paradise white, fuchsia/white, navy/white, light blue and kiwi costing £9.50.
