TaylorMade latest R9 SuperTri driver - top of the hit parade

The UK’s first online golf equipment rental service - www.rentaclub.co.uk - has revealed that the latest TaylorMade R9 SuperTri and the Callaway FT-iZ drivers are the most popular among golfers looking test-drive new products by renting them for five days at a time.

Packed with the latest technology and performance benefits, the clubs have proved a big hit with golfers keen to try before they buy using the new scheme which costs £25 per club to rent. Other popular brands being rented are Nike, Cleveland, Srixon, Mizuno, Wilson Staff and Bridgestone.

“There has been an outstanding response to our new website, with golfers relishing the opportunity to sign up and rent new drivers,” explained Matthew Fagan, the site's managing director. New 2010 products are now reaching the shops and we are seeing golfers teeing up potential purchases by thoroughly test driving products to find out what works best for them to ensure value for money from their investment.”

Once ordered from the website, the clubs are delivered within 24 hours by UPS courier to the golfer’s home or work address. The golfer can keep the club for five days (£25) or 10 days (£40) before it is picked up and returned by UPS. Fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters will be available soon.

TGI Golf, the UK’s leading network of golf pro retailers, is supporting Rentaclub.co.uk, with many of its 400 members offering free custom-fitting services to the website’s customers who, having rented a driver, go on to purchase a product.

“This is an exciting new opportunity for golfers and one that has the full backing of the UK golf industry. And it's clear that the message that golfers should test drive and be custom fitted for new golf equipment is hitting home, and that this service is precisely what British golfers want.”
