Both Nike and Etonic, two of the biggest names in footwear, have introduced new golf shoes for 2005.
Nike says of its SP-6 ‘ we think your feet are going to love them’, while Etonic claims of its first non-cleated golf shoe, ‘the G-SOK promises to do for footwear what hybrids have done for golf equipment.’
Built on the same principles that made the SP-7, such a success this year, the Nike SP-6 claims to marry comfort and durability with strength, suppleness and style, making the distinctive ‘swoosh’ a feature on the uppers.
It features a heel Air-Sole unit and a Phylon midsole for cushioning as well as a Poron sockliner that sculpts the contours of the foot. Nike says the shoe has added T@C4 traction and waterproofing.
It will be available in black or white from January from Nike outlets for £100. Visit

 Etonic G-SOK
|
Etonic has teamed up with Goodyear to build a new type of non-cleat traction shoe - the G-SOK. The colourful outsole features a ‘Multi-Zone Traction System’ which combines pyramid turf grips with stability bars for increased grip on all types of lies and surfaces.
Says Etonic’s Karen Pitts: "This revolutionary design works and is a designer's dream - by not having to build a golf shoe around cleats. We can make it more lightweight and flexible, and at the same time have more fun with the overall look of the shoe."
The G-SOK will be available in March in black, white/black and white/brown/black with a price tag of £80. For your nearest stockist call USP Brands on 0113 387 7710 or visit

*Also in the New Year, Nike will launch a comprehensive range of golf shoes for women featuring the Nike SP-LS model.
Nike says the new shoes (£80) follow the success of the SP-5 shoe. Fitted with the new grip system and Air-Sole unit, the SP-LS will come in Light Bone/black and white/Light Graphite/Dark Orange with a removable Kiltie and velcro strap.
