NEW! PING S55 iron
 1 of 1

Several PING staff players were spotted testing the new PING S55 iron on the PGA Tour at The Barclays last week.

The S55 irons are set to build on the success of the S56, PING's only current true better player irons which have been in the range for more than four years.

Players reported to be testing the new model include Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson. Over in Europe, the S55 irons have been tested by Gregory Havret, Andy Sullivan and Brandon Stone with all three players putting them straight in the bag for the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.

From what we know thus far, S55 will feature multi metal (tungsten toe, 17-4 stainless steel body), Tour-style blades that are thinner face than S56, larger Custom Tuning Port (CTP), tungsten toe weight for forgiveness, stabilizing bar for distance control and stronger lofts.

Stay tuned for more information.
