Srixon has added yet another new ball to its stable - the one currently used by World No.2 Jim Furyk and with which he finished second (behind Adam Scott) in yesterday US PGA Tour Championship at East Lake, Georgia.

The Alton (Hants)-based UK distributors, Srixon Sports, says the three-piece Srixon Z-URC ball features a revolutionary, ultra thin urethane elastomer cover - the company’s softest ever. It also has a highly resilient large 'energetic gradient growth core' with a high velocity layer and a 330 high trajectory dimple pattern.

Says Srixon: "The spin function is greater on approach shots because of the quality and softness of the cover, allowing more aggression because the extra control. The dimple pattern also provides low spin and a penetrative ball flight, especially in the wind."

In 2005 Srixon Sports had 31 International Tour Victories with its balls and has already had a similar number this year.

The Z-URC and Z-UR series balls are also played by Furyk, Tim Clark, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Robert Allenby, Tom Lehman, Brian Davis, Laura Davies and Karrie Webb and the Z-URC will be available from February 1, 2007 at a suggested price of £39.99 per dozen.
