Top brands Cleveland, Srixon and Never Compromise which combined in a unique merger last year, have opened their own state-of-the art Centre of Excellence, based at Maidenhead Golf Centre, next to the town's Braywick Park.

Easily accessible from the M4 it is being run by Dean Cracknell a former European Tour club specialist.

The range features fully carpeted bays and mats, using quality Srixon balls and a special short game area, as well as a full length range. Golfers can be fitted across the full range of Srixon and Cleveland irons and drivers using the latest Trackman software.

Says Cracknell: "The Centre of Excellence is a purpose built facility with technology-driven custom-fitting for the player looking to advance their game. Each fitting session is unique and tailored to the individual so we can give every player the opportunity to fulfill their full potential with Srixon and Cleveland equipment.

I was there last week to check out the latest Srixon WR and CG7 irons aimed at mid-to high handicappers as well as the Srixon WR driver and the 2009 Cleveland Launcher and Cleveland HiBore Monster drivers.

It was also an opportunity to be fitted for the latest 50-degree Cleveland CG14 Black Pearl wedge using the sloping Huxley-built sloping green where pitches to several pin positions stop and spin on the sand-filled synthetic grass.

Customers can book an appointment at the Centre of Excellence with any Srixon or Cleveland Golf stockist. For more information call 0800 3897969, visit The Maidenhead Golf Centre, Braywick Park, Braywick Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 1BN or check out www.srixon.co.uk.
