Stuburt, Hi-Tec go for 'athletic fashion'

Shoe-makers add to their range with stylish new models aimed at the young golfers.

A peek at the London Golf Show catwalk last week revealed a hint at the direction golf footwear is headed. Less the traditional, clumpy, saddle, more the stylish athletic look.

And top golf shoe makers Stuburt and Hi-Tec have confirmed this with their latest lightweight models aimed at the growing youth and young adult market.

Stuburt introduces the E-Lite Sport and Concept Lite, worn by Ryder Cup hero David Howell, while Hi-Tec launches the metallic look of the V-Lite Typhoon, complete with striking reflective logo.

Stuburt’s E-Lite Sport shoe (£49.99) features full grain leather uppers with a split vented breathable saddle, lightweight Phylon and rubber outsole incorporates clear rubber MFW traction studs. It also has a perforated soft padded ankle collar for additional comfort and an impregnated inner lining to keep feet ‘fresh’.

In addition, the Stuburt Concept Lite shoe (£39.99) has a Top-Dri membrane to keep feet dry and a sole with Champ Scorpion Stinger studs

Says Stuburt’s Graeme Stevens: "The new sole units lessen the weight without loosing performance benefits. And combined with the additional fabrics we’ve integrated into the shoes, the result is improved comfort and less fatigue at the end of a round’.

Hi-Tec V-Lite Typhoon

Hi-Tec claims its V-Lite Typhoon shoe (£59.99) is both functional and fashionable and includes the Q-Lok CDT cleat with arrow indicator that wears down to identify the need to replace the softspike.

A dual density heel also helps prevent the foot from twisting while a moulded sock-liner provides extra cushioning and sock absorption.

The shoe is available in white/mocha/jet, white/black/shadow and black/slate.
