NEW! TaylorMade SLDR driver

TaylorMade has today launched its new SLDR driver, featuring 21 SLDR weight positions that dial in the golfer's desired shot shape.

SLDR, featuring a modern-classic shape with charcoal grey crown, has a low-forward CG to promote high launch, fast ball speed and low spin for even greater distance.

A simple sliding 20g weight is positioned towards the front of the driver helps move the CG low and forward. Simply slide the weight towards the hosel for a draw, or slide the weight towards the toe for a fade.

TaylorMade claims its SLDR sliding weight promotes up to 30 yards of shot shape adjustment.

"Our expertise in positioning the CG low and forward in a driver sets us apart from our competitors, and is vital to making SLDR the spectacular distance machine it is," says TaylorMade's chief technical officer Dr Benoit Vincent.

The golfer is also able to increase or reduce the loft of the SLDR up to 1.5-degree with a 12-position loft-sleeve for optimal trajectory, while the silver button-back works with subtle crown markings aids easy clubface alignment.

The key to the leap in distance is a lower and more forward centre of gravity (CG) that promotes a hotter launch, lower spin and faster ball speed.

Similar to the impact the Speed Pocket had on the performance of the RocketBallz fairway and Rescue clubs, TaylorMade engineers believe SLDR’s low and forward CG placement will redefine driver distance.

The driver comes with a standard Fujikura Speeder 57 shaft and TM 360 grip.

SLDR will be available on August 16 at £349 in right-handed 9.5-, 10.5- and 12-degree versions, and left-handed 9.5- and 10.5-degree. SLDR TP will be available at £399 in 9.5-, 10.5- and 12-degree in Fujikura Speeder Tour Spec 6.3 (custom shafts also available).
