adidas Kumacross 2.0 eyewear review

GolfMagic picked up a pair of Justin Rose's adidas Kumacross 2.0 sunglasses in an eye-catching black matt and blue model.

Also available in a range of colours such as flash red, green, yellow, navy and black, the shades impressed from the moment we slipped them on until we took them off in the 19th. Their comfort and performance is unrivalled for a pair of golf shades.

Too many times we have played golf with sunnies on - usually €40 jobs that we eventually got down to €4 while walking along the front in Playa De Las Americas - and they just wobble around on the bridge of the nose during the swing.

Yet there were no such problems with these built-for-golf glasses that not only felt light for 18 holes, but remained tight to the face when going after those full-blooded drives.

Adidas attributes the added levels of comfort and stability to its "SPX Flex Zone" that ensures the Kumacross 2.0 fits to a golfer’s head.

These shades also shone on the green, aided by the "Decentred Vision Advantage" polycarbonate lenses.

Putting from outside 30 feet – an area of putting often tricky to gauge pace when wearing sunglasses – felt no different to putting normally.

Vision appeared crystal clear and distortion-free throughout, and at times they appeared to offer a stronger sense of the line and break of a putt.

VERDICT

Stylish, light and comfortable, it is easy to see why Olympic gold medallist Rose has opted for the adidas Kumacross 2.0 sunglasses.

Prices range from about £80 and that looks terrific value for money given they would also look great off the course.

Well worth a look if you're in the market for a pair of premium golf shades.
