The new FT-i Driver features a revolutionary square clubhead design that expands on Callaway Golf's superior weight-shifting Fusion(R) technology using multiple materials in clubhead construction.

The FT-i driver also incorporates Callaway proprietary OptiFit(R) weighting system, which produces three centre of gravity configurations--draw, neutral or fade--and enables golfers to choose the configuration that best suits their game.

The new 460cc Complete Inertial Design re-positions weight in the outer corners of the clubhead and is designed to produce the highest total inertia of any driver on the market. The resulting resistance to twisting (torque) provides, says Callaway, unrivalled forgiveness and more distance on drives.

The FT-i boasts Callaway largest, most robust CT/VFT titanium cup face, designed to legal limits to dramatically increase ball speed, distance, forgiveness and stability for longer, straighter drives.

The FT-i driver will be available in both standard and Tour models as well as men's and women's versions. The standard models feature lofts of 9-, 10-, 11- degrees and as well 13(high trajectory). It will ffeature the Fujikura Speeder 586 shaft in light, regular and stiff fflexes.

TThe 10- and 11-degree models are available left-handed versions. The TTour version has a less-closed face and will be available in 8.5- and 99.5-degree lofts with the Fujikura Speeder 686 shaft in regular, sstiff and extra-stiff flexes. The 9.5 degree model will also be aavailable for left-handers.

Callaway, which has its UK base at Chessington, will officially unveil its new FT-i driver and other new products at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida next week . It will be available in Europe in early February.

Believe the hype. I was lucky enough to find an 11 degree regular in stock at my local American Golf today. Testing in store, even over my lovely Taylormade R7 was convincing, so I took the plunge.

And what a driver! Straighter, and on average around 20 yards longer. My slice is no more!

Do make sure you try one. However, I did try the Sumo 2 and found it noisy, and stated hooking shots all over the place like never before.

If it works for you that's the main thing, congrats on your latest purchase, and I hope you get the best out of it. :0)

I have to confess to having tried one already, including the Sumo2, they both didn't do it for me, just too loud for my liking, and no real improvement over my then driver when I hit that solid of course. :0)

Then I tried the R7 425, that's my Driver now, perfect. :0)

I've already heard a lot of great reviews on the FT-i. I hoping they arrive in Australia soon so I can put it to the test.
