Golfmagic Awards:
Winners Announced

When Golfmagic.com launched its first awards in 2006 we were inundated with votes from discerning equipment buyers who use the site, nominating the clubs, balls, shoes, weatherwear and trolleys they found were great value or aspired to own.

We received a similarly huge response this time to our 2008 awards which had a little twist in that the GM visitors helped choose the products for nomination before casting their votes.

Votes were cast in 13 categories in which we gave you a handful of options and also the opportunity to vote for last-minute alternative if your particular favourite wasn't listed. Many of you did - but overall we found your nominations were spot on.

Our apologies that we could not release the results sooner but we wanted the opportunity to present some of the awards

Winners included 'Jim Hacker' who was voted the recipient of 'The Shamblers Award'. Although he has since decided he is too shy and embarrassed to accept the accolade! Completing the list of winners were the Golfmagic forum moderators who were voted the forum's 'Unsung Heroes'.

Thats charming Bob after I saved your skin.   I've been called a few things in my time but shy and retiring isn't one of them.

The truth of the matter is although I seemed to have won your award fair and square I did in fact unknowingly bribe my voter!   I simply said 'dont you bloody dare'!! Yes, you know who you are!!!

Besides Bob there's many more deserving Shamblers whom have put their heart and soul into Shambling, traveling throughout the country to enjoy a game with their colleages, I unfortunately haven't been anything like so dedicated to the Shambling cause, and because of this have failed miserably in my attempt to uphold all those things dear to British Shambling.

These individuals would have been over the moon with the Crystal Award Bob, so I do hope you remember to rub my name off when you send it to them next year!
