Miguel sets off another great debate

The enduring ability of Miguel Angel Jimenez to win golf tournaments never ceases to amaze, especially as his latest at the Hong Kong Open at the weekend broke Des Smyth's 11-year-old record as the oldest player to win on Tour - aged 48 years and 318 days.

I had the pleasure to play with him in Murcia a few years ago, when he stepped out of his Ferrari and headed for the range and a breathtaking series of exercises before he picked up a club. He now includes yoga in his routine but like most of us, enjoys a regular slurp of Rioja to oil the joints.

Long may he continue and don't rule him out for a place in the next Ryder Cup in Scotland as a 50-year-old.
