Just looking at my calendar and wondering if there would be an appetite for an outing in early June (3rd or 10th)  I've no idea of venues at the moment and it might be difficult to get one at a reasonable price in June, but if I can establish that there would be sufficient interest, I can start looking around.

I could also look ahead to the first half of September for an Autumn event so if anyone is interested in that too, let me know.

June 3rd No good for us - Peterculter Mixed greensomes

I can make June 10th - but Mrs DIS is playing in her Club Championships

Only dates still free in early September weekends are 1st and 15th

Colin - have you looked at men's Opens - we could all eneter and also play for the GM trophy - as they give very cheap Greenfees

That's an intersting idea, Dick.  There would be the drawback that we would not necessarily be playing together and for me, these outings are about that - a group of people I now know plus new faces to meet and get to know, playing golf together and getting together for food and a pint, a laugh and a wee presentation afterwards.

So maybe that is a good idea as an addition rather than an alternative?  What do others think?

I was assuming a genuinely random draw was the norm as opposed to my "random" draws 

I'm up for it any of the dates proposed.

I will need to get a handicap first though, is there a minumum standards requirement to qualify for entry?

Depends where we play - if we go for the Open option - then you must be an SGU club member to have a CONGU handicap

I should be good for the Summer dates but maybe struggling for the Autumn - will know soon.

Nah you won't. Will they ask for it prior to play. Prob not. IF you played well and were in the prizes,  THEN they would. So you could still have a GM meet.
