I currently use a Reg flex driver shaft, but today managed to try out a friends Grafalloy Pro Launch stiff and I was bombing it.
I just wondered what flex do you use and what shaft?

I use a stock TM regular flex soft tip shaft on my R7. I swing pretty fast and occasionaly break the 300 barrier. Yes i know i should be using a stiff shaft but i like a bit a flex and it gives me a bit more yardage =]. I also am a pretty accurate driver so consistency in flex isnt too crucial.

Stiff Fujikura Speeder 757 tipped 3/4"

 |
Remember Alex different make shafts play as different flexs.
I use the stiff stock shaft in a Cobra 440 SZ and also the stiff stock shaft in a Mizuno 460 MP 001.

With a swing speed of 100-105 I play Grafalloy Prolite 35, which tends to play a bit on the stiff side, in my Yaylor 580 I found the regular stock shaft a bit too soft for me.

regular flex Accuflex ProLD, cut down to 44".
|
 |
 evo reg tipped 3/4
|
 |
I play the prolaunch blue stiff too, prevoiusly tried the grafalloy blue stiff - much much firmer than the prolaunch...there's firm and then there's STIFF
|
 |
I chnaged from the Graff Blue to the Prolaunch, didn't get on with the Blue

Without trying to be a smart a$$ I have no idea. Yes I know its a Diamana 83 S but compared to other stiff shafted clubs, I wouldn't know actually how stiff it was. Could be as stiff as a Pro Lite regular for all I know.

nanotech grafalloy reg , as my game improves so does my swing speed . I was actualy speaking to my pro today he suggests :change my shaft :or swing slower. i start the fist 3 or 4 holes driving great then as i get into my stride i start swinging faster in turn affecting my strike that starts to gradualy slice

UST Proforce 65 Gold. Regular flex, tip stiff. Getting on a bit but works well for me.

 stock TaylorMade R7 400cc 10.5HT regular shaft.
I am hitting good drives 230yards carry at the moment with bombs going close to 250yards carry (i think the fact that it was 10degrees rather than sub 5 made the difference! but we'll see when summer comes.)
i don't know what my current swing speed is or what i should be using! i'll stick with regular for now.
But would like some good quality time with the new TM R7's and SQ each in a variety of shafts with a launch monitor.

How does that UST 65 play steve? The regular isn't too whippy is it as I have 3 of those shafts, 2 regular and one stiff but haven't got round to trying them out yet. How is the ball flight from it?
Isn't the stock shaft in the taylormade like a piece of string? I heard it was pretty damn whippy. Is this true?

According to the frequency analyser mine is equivalent to 7.2 on the Rifle scale, which I believe is a bit stiffer than Extra Stiff. Came as a shock to me as I thought it was stiff flex.

I have just gone to true temper R300 (43.5") STEEL!!!! in my Driver and I have never hit it straighter.

Currently using a Harrison 2.5 Pro Titanium stiff on a 455 DB. Had the overall length trimmed to 44".
Never really had a problem with driving distance, but was very innacurate.
Chose the Harrison to improve accuracy and consistency. Have noticed a slight fade, but I can live with that. No longer suffering from the snap hook which would rear it's ugly head from time to time.
Averaging 265 since the shaft change, so very happy indeed.
If you get a chance to see the animation for the Pro 2.5 on the Harrison site, do it. I know the animation is a bit naff, but believe me, the shaft works.

 NV 65 stiff

Fujikura 652 speeder stiff, changed from Prolaunch regular which I had a tendancy to slice, never been as straight as I am with the Fuji, shame about my short game!

Graffaloy Blue Pro-Launch Stiff in my G2. Definitely recommended.
