Hi
Recently bought a Yes Natalie and whilst it's great (for putting) - bit disappointed with the finish especially on the rear of the head where it looks, well unfinished.
The back edge of the blade section is actually not straight, there are several small indendations and lumps which makes it look like the head has just been pulled from a mould and not finished off.
It was bought from a retailer and no reason to think it's a fake but compared to most of the precision milled kit you see this is a bit like one of my old school metalwork projects..kinda takes the shine off a new purchase.
Anyone else noticed this on Yes putters ?

There is no way I would have bought it - I hate poor quality.

There is an awful lot of fake Yes putters doing the rounds. I have noticed a lot of them appearing on ebay and people commenting in the feedabck that they are fakes.

My son has a Marilyn and there is no doubting the quality of the finish on his. I think that I would have wanted to see other examples to see whether this was a one-off or not before comitting to a purchase...

I bought one 2nd hand from Darth Fader and it was as good as new, I suspect you might have unwittingly been sold a fake.

I have a Yes! Natalie myself and have no issues with the quality at all, superb putter.
|
 |
I have a Yes Callie and the quality is faultless, it was partly its precision finish that made me buy it
|
 |
If you have concerns with the quality, why not take it back to the retailer and see what they have to say?
|

I have a Tracy II and a Callie Forged. Both perfect quality.
I did buy a Callie (non forged)on eBay from a Yes "dealer".
I'm convinced it was a fake. Just not as good as the other 2.

I had heard through a retailer that the demand for the Yes putters was that high that the quality of the end product was being compromised due to trying to get as many out into the market as quickly as possible.

Im sure mine has a serial number on the shaft, 1 do the fakes all have the same number like bank notes? 2 just a random number ? 3 or not one at all? if it does have a number cant YES confirm its authenticity

Believe me, all genuine and fake YES putters are made in China, perhaps from the same source. I got a Yes Olivier 3 years back and got rid of it right away after I received it. Its cheap and feels like a tin can.

Maybe it's all the putters that have failed quality inspection that have now found their way into non legitimate sources.
|
 |
Finally found an authorised retailer with one in stock not that far away - going to have a look this afternoon.

Are all Yes putters CNC milled? You said you thought there are unfinished areas from the moulding process if they are CNC milled this wouldn't happen, there may however be some swarf sharp edges though.

Well, found a shop with several of them in and they're all fine - looks like I got a pup.
Good news is apparently there's a replacement on it's way from Yes so we'll see....

I have a Yes Tracey II and the back edge is darker but not "unfinished" - best putter that I`ve ever owned (until the next one !?!?)

I have an Olivia which i have just purchased and a Marilyn putter. The fininsh on both are excellent. In the process i also purchased a putter of questionable quality from an online dealer. The putter did not have a Winn grip, the colours on the grip were the wrong way around (Should be Black, white yellow from the top down) the shaft was flimsy and stepped, mine are both rifled. Also there was no collar on the head for the shaft.

This about fake Yes! putters from another thread.... The head was very good looking and almost impossible to tell the difference. The give away was the grip, on the real Yes putter there is an area of flat rubber around the 'Yes' name that follows the contour of the letters. On the fake is was rectangular in shape.

I had a couple of Yes putters and the finish was faultless, but the putters themselves aren't anything special IMO, very clunky.
