Brilliant! These guys sound like they can help a guy like me out!

Monkeytaff, I'm sure they can. I let a friend have one tee shot with mine, and he wants one. I have a 12* with a Creation shaft in it, and a 10.5* with a Harrison Pro 2.5 in it, in a perfect world I could do to swap the shafts over, at present I can't be arsed, but will do at some point. Then I'm sure I will find it very hard to improve that combo, as I don't think I could gain more consistancy (by that I mean accuracy not only length) with any other. Join the Geek club, I promise you won't regret it mate, don't forget to get slightly more loft than you would normally get though.

Well I'm off for a week aftre tomorrow but when I come back I think there is a new project on the horizon!

me too. really tempted and would be making a decision before the golf hol. to turkey. problem's going to be what shaft???

Current got an Aldila NV 65-S on my 580 - quite like the feel but getting used to the sttiffer shaft. I had the stock R-flex shafy on the old version. Stiff flex has slightly helped my wild slice... Now a wild fade!

My new Mizuno is absolutely MINT! standard regular flex Exsar DS3 shaft 10.5* Won't be changing this for weeks!!!!

using a regular fujikura speed stick on an R7 460 and really like it. however will need to take advice as to comparable head sizes and weighting

Geoff at Bighitgolf will put you right, I have a TP R7 with a Reax stiff shaft, which is 425cc, the DCT is 450cc although to me it's very similar looking, and definately doesn't look as big as 450cc. I know it's a peculiar name, but you'll have a job to find a better looking head.

finally took the plunge and contacted geoff at bighitgolf once he returned from new zealand being corrie fisted i opted for the 14* loft and we originally tried the Regular NV55 shaft. found this to be soft and losing everything to the right. now have a R grafalloy prolite and it is the bees knees. hitting it straighter and slightly longer and it feels great. fair to say that i am a now a convert

Good to hear Howler, I've been using my 10.5* with a stiff Harrison Pro 2.5 for the last couple of rounds and it's gone very good. It was the first medal on Sunday, I started off with a crazy double bogey 7 from a good drive, and finished with a gross 73 (net 66), to hopefully win the comp, (I don't know as yet) This was undoubtably because my confidence from the tee was so good, with the Geek. My main aim was to try and get to 5 this year, well with a bit of luck I just might be there already.
|
 |
fingers crossed. if you are now 5 then you'll have to set a new target. 4 seems reasonable for starters

I'm not being negative Howler, but I think I'm around my limit, I'll explain. I didn't start playing golf until a few years ago, and to be honest I'm still learning about some quite basic things for a low handicapper. To be honest, I don't have many problems playing on my home course, but it gets difficult when playing away from home, I suppose that goes for a lot of other golfers too though.
