Looks like Woody Austins swing with the slow deliberate backswing. Was the shot good? You finished well. Only problem with these you tube vids, you can't slow them down or stop them at impact to see what the club is doing. But looks like you can play great golf. (As we have the facility to add UTube videos to a post - by clicking on the little 'tree' option at the top of each new post and using the mini drop down menu for UTube, thought I'd help illustrate your response with this Woody Austin sequence. to topslice. u dont transfer ur weight on the backswing u have a slight reverse pivot because of this. other than that everything looks pretty good.

Creo Frankly, it could have been ME in that video except that my backswing now is much shorter than 17 years ago but thank goodness the modern ball has just about made up for any distance I've lost. You have a slight sway which has never been part of my game but so did/does the great Christy O'Connor and the late, great Joe Carr with whom I played quite a lot. Have you any Irish blood in you? Your swing is reminiscent of many of their good players. A sway doesn't matter a bit if you can control it. All the good players who have one are usually very long and reasonably straight with a driver in their hands!

I like it too, Creo. you have a lot of wrist in your swing which obviously accounts for the lag you get. You don't see many swings like this anymore, buddy.

topslice.... There's nothing wrong with your weight transfer at all. It's perfectly acceptable to keep your weight central with a rotary/one plane type swing. Adam, a pronounced weight transfer is only necessary if you have a two plane action as the shift shallows out the swing arc. As tops swing arc is already shallow he doesn't need to transfer his weight as much. Chuck Quinton demonstrates this by hitting balls the same distance off the front leg only as off two.

This is a great thread which I'm looking to develop with as many GM members' swing sequences as possible - as long as you're prepared for the critiques as well as the praise from other posters. As described in Golfer 24's post we have the facility to add UTube videos to a /thread or post - by clicking on the little 'tree' option at the top of each new post and using the mini drop down menu for UTube. Look out for more swings to analyse and please keep your own sequences coming. ED

It would be interesting to see peoples swings with both irons and driver if they have them. For some people they can be quite radically different. I'll try and get mine filmed sometime this week and post it up.

I've only got access to a really old swing from 2 years ago, but I'm happy to try and get it on here. I've been unwell so can't post anything recent.

I've been looking for the small tree icon for ages when I realised it may be a mozilla firefox issue. This option displays in internet explorer only.
Thanks for the comments on my swing. I previously had too much movement to the right on the backswing but was more of a sway than just weight transfer, in my younger years I had a huge self taught sway which has now all but disappeared. In the lesson I was having in the video, my pro tilted my spine angle so I was more over my right side before starting where previously I was vertical probably causing a more exagerated reverse pivot. Also why my right foot was turned in to teach me to not bump my right hip out. On looking at the video again I could probably do with moving my left shoulder more above my right foot on the backswing - would this then help prevent my slight reverse pivot which in turn probably causes my occasional hook and iron shots left of target. Although you can't see it so much in this movie, I noticed my head moves forward a bit on the backswing and back on the downswing which probably causes all sorts of results. Any advice for keeping it at a constant level throughout the swing (as Luke Donald recommends for acurate iron play).

Unsure what you mean TSHP. I put up the vids using the Mozilla Firefox browser - are you saying you only use Int Explorer and can't see the little icons? If so i'll ask techies to investigate. ED

Bob, I use firefox and the little tree icon is there for me.

Topslice, If you're having lessons the best advice is to do what your pro tells you and ignore us lot as conflicting advice is never helpful. If you don't trust your pro consider changing .

Fair enough, mate. It's good that you've posted what you're working on though. That way people can respond around that.

Here we go then the most up to date clip of my swing I could find, it was freezing and was wrapped up like the yeti but you get the idea, most shots on this day where a slight draw. I know I'm in for it but what do you think? its got me down to a 10 so far Im always working on the fact I take the club back to far inside but when my timing is on I can get away with it, the pro doesnt think its to much of a problem, I just dont like looking at it looping at the top.
