Hi guys,looking forward to the summer after freezing my wotsits off round the course today, and lost! i was planning to start using pro vs in the summer, but after searching ebay and other sites, im sort of hesitant to spend dosh on them! even grade b's are costly any reccomendations to an alternative to these, a little less expensive but with a nice soft feel? i used sixon ad333s last summer but want something a bit softer than them cheers

I also use Srixon, but the Soft Feel version (green box) they are softer than th Ad's, try a sleeve and fibd out yourself. On another note, I use Maxfli Noodles for general play, the Srixons are for comps only, but the Maxflis are just as soft, especially around the greens, but a tad harder than the Srixons off the woods/driver face.

 The Inesis TD Tour ball is a very competent performer at £14.99 doz. It's a 3pce construction ball with a Urethane cover.
They have become the quiet find of the year on the GM Forum.

I think the ProV1 has it over these by a whisker in the feel stakes but they p!ss all over the group of balls floating around at the same price.

 Keep an eye out for Callaway HX Tour and Tour 56 they seem to be going on clearance. The local pro has them ar £25 a dozen at the moment.

I'm a big fan of the titleist so-lo's. They're inexpensive (especially off ebay. I bought a box of 100 for 32 quid inc p&p!). They're not as soft as some other balls, but in my opinion are the equal in terms of length and for me (not the most subtle of players to say the least!) feel.

Ha ha i can stretch a bit further than stratas. been using the solos in the winter but will have a look out inesis balls they sound decent. also i have seen srixon trispeed balls cheap for a 3 piece ball, anyo know much about them?

 So you want something in between Pro V1 AAA grade and Strata A grade? Riiiiiiiiiiight,

 I use Srixon Soft Feel (green) and find them as soft as the Pro V1's Can pick them up quite cheap so give them a go.

The amount of hype in here for the Inesis totally exceeds the actual reality, which is its an average ball at best, reminds me of the BlackMax. If you want cheap Pro V1s buy B grades, or as I suggested earlier Stratas, betcha can't tell the difference between them and the Inesis.

W-b, I suppose it is all down to whether you can tell the difference in feel between a hard clicky ball such as the Strata's (just 3 or 4 piece Topflites) or Blackmax (which was a fine Maxfli ball, if a little hard) I personally prefer to putt with a ball that doesn't click (purely a personal preference) and the control and distance of the Inesis are certainly not average. So we will have to agree to differ - I will continue to play the Inesis TD Tour ball as it ticks every box for my game. It is not some substandard junk pressed up for Decathlon in China but is actually a very fine seamless Bridgestone, made in Japan, 3 piece - and considering they make balls under licence for other major manufacturers I am happy to pay £14-95 a dozen for that sort of quality.  P.S. - Makes you wonder why this ball has such a following considering it is relatively unknown. I do not think that you can call user reviews of such high recommendation hype. Why take notice of what forum users say - let's just trust the major manufacturers eh?

Lol, no need to take it personally, I haven't slighted your mother, only a golf ball ps I AM a forum user, not a manufacturer, and I can indeed call it hype, its a ball thats been bigged up big style and I found it just another decent ball, certainly not ground breaking. Hype isn't criticism, just a word used to describe the amount of post space its had. Its a good ball at a great price, fair enough, just no better than many others, imho

We all have favourites - LOL I think the last ball I bigged up was the Maxfli A10 which was IMHO in a league of its own. Even that ball had its detractors (mainly the Pro V1 indoctrinated Tour wannabees). .... until Callaway sued the arse of Maxfli for patent infringements and they stopped manufacturing them. Funny, I've never used a Callaway ball that was that good.

I dislike Callaways, just feel to hard, same as Srixons, which feel hard AND heavy, a major feat. I can only use Pro V1s, nothing else will do
