One of the lads a few weeks ago was one of the funniest shots ive seen. Par 3 Downhill, Whack ball starts to fade away from hole into trees. Bang ball bounces back towards the green and shouting "come on". Gets half way towards green only to hit the smallest tree on earth about half an inch trunk. Straight back into the trees where it just bounced (FLEW) out of. Was great. Any more like this?

Almost forgot, Hollins Hall, Tee off from 15th and head up to ball in buggy, head over the fairway to get to ball, only for group behind to not seen us on fairway. "FORE" Kieron thinking "Oh SHIT", BANG! Straight off the side of the buggy windscreen pole. Oh boy that was close just as well as I let off the gas or that was my head. Must of been coming at 100 MPH.

Last week, 18th hole. I've just finished my round and I'm putting my clubs back in the car. I look over to the 18th and see someone about to play their approach shot, he obviously hit it too hard and hit it straight at the clubhouse window. Somehow it didn't smash, but thought it was quite funny

Never seen that one yet. Seen my mate hit the tent next to the club house after a little bit of a slice. Needless to say he never went and looked for it!

The flukiest/ Strangest/ comedy birdie i have seen goes as this. Par 4 430y Guy i play with bigger driver but a little wayward plays of 24, hit a huge drive 270y+ but its probably 60y right on the next fairway, takes his 5 wood given how far off line he is, its something like 200y, smashes it but this time its 40y left of the green but pin high on the next tee. Takes his LW out and proceeds to thin it and it sets of like exocet about 2y off the ground, it hits the rise of the green which slows it down a touch, once bounce on green then smashes in to the flag about a 1ft high and drops in the hole for a birdie. I played it nice and steady and walked off with a 5!

last round i played 15th hole i got 140 yards let its an elevated two tier green, i got loads of big trees in front of me so im thinking ill hit a high fade over this and plonk it on the bottom tier near the pin. got an 8 iron and chunked it, im totaly digusted with myself curseing at the ball as it just gets under the trees and bouncers up towards the green it rolls up on to the green and i cant belive my eyes as it rolls up towards the 2nd tier stops rolls down and stops 4 feet from the pin S.I 2 my arse haha

Sounds a good birdie too me lol! Thats the way to do it. I hit a birdie last night first time for a a couple of rounds. Hit a 290 yard drive to a 300 yard hole so was hoping for birdie at least. Condsidering a few holes back hit another 290Y drive to a 300Y again and 4 putted like an ASS lol.

One of my playing partners after four putting chucked his ball up in the air and took a swipe at it with his putter. It sounded like he had it it with a driver, I watched his ball in amazement as it zoomed off into the distance, only to crack up laughing when I saw his putter head zooming off after it, not sure if this qualifies though as he had already holed out

Lol. That is pretty impressive lol. One of the guys I play regular, hit his chipped 140 Yards I think or was it 160. I know it was par with with chipper LOL!

We went to Okehampton to the Ashbury hotel or something. On a 500+ yard par 5 I teed off and hit it low and right about 30 yards ahead of the tee towards a fence, cart path and forest. Ball bounced off the fence a few times and landed on the cart path. it then bounced down the cart path for 450yards downhill and ended up pin high, 20 yards right of the green. Chipped on and holed a putt for an eagle! Thank you very much! So I have hit a 500 yard drive! With a 2 iron. Not even tiger does that!

Lol that is impressie cart track usage. Totally legal as well aint it?

guy i play with hit his chipper of the 15th tee, par 3 at swanston and flew straight over the green... further and straighter than any shot i've seen him hit at that hole!
|
 |
Lol I must have a try when I see him next.

Went to the 9 hole with a few friends. Tee'd up on the last whole - par 4, driveable. I usually use a 3 wood, but I brought out the 'bigin for this. Through the ball I go and all I see is the club head getting further and further away from me.... ended up about 100-150yards away from me! And best of all, the ball fell just short of the green! Also, at the driving range, I hit my 5 iron and the head also snapped off, again, nearly hitting the 100 yard sign. This happened a second time (3iron), and a third time (4 iron)... This was a que for a new set of clubs!

The Flukiest shot I have ever seen Was at the 141yd, Par 3, 17th at Blakes with a Deep, Sleeper faced Trap! Front/right side of the green. My mate put his Tee shot into the Trap, Thinned his 2nd Shot into the Sleepers, The ball shot up at 90 Degrees about 60 feet into the air, Plopped onto the downslope of the Green, Bounced once and rolled down towards the pin, Circled the lip and Dropped into the hole! FOR A BIRDIE!!!! What made it worse was the look on his face, It was like he meant to do it and expected the ball to go in! Not a Hint of a smile or acknowledgement of Luck!

playin with a guy off 24 in a comp was in the trees 70yds away. pulls out a full wedge and tries the most stupid shot i have seen. A full wedge up into these trees. i mean you couldnt see daylight through them they were so thick and a low shot was virtually impossible because of the number of trees, and the hole was cut just behind a bunker. anyway goes to rip this wedge, totally thins it, ball flies about 1 foot of the floor, avoids all these trees unbelievably and hits the face of the bunker. that just kills it, the ball pops out rolls to the hole and goes round 3/4 of it to stop dead 1 inch away. seriously 1million attempts and that couldnt be repeated.

A few years back - in the days of persimmon drivers - playing off the winter mats, my mate cracks a drive away, but there's a strange double noise and no ball to be seen. After a few seconds I realise what's going on and fold my arms over my head. He's still looking around gormlessly as the ball, having ricocheted off the 1" wooden rail round the tee and gone about 200 feet straight up in the air, lands back virtually on its peg.

Playing the 2nd at Southampton Muni hit the ball from the fairway - thinned it, hit a wooden post came back over my shoulder about 10 yrds behind me. I don't know who was more shaken up me or the Squirrel that was sitting on the post
