i'm interested to know what golf magazines (if any) people are reading.

what do you think is a good read?

if anything i read them for the course reviews.

I read Today's Golfer, if any. Good tips and shot-savers, make you think about your game. The other mags are too aspirational for me, so I haven't read them for quite a while - they're too detached from the game of golf that I play. Personally I like the to-and-fro of a website for technique or for equipment discussion, even if I don't actually contribute all that much - it's nevertheless good just to watch what is being said. I find TG gets closest to that, by being more down-to-earth.

I don't read any mags, I actually find them quite dull and dry, though maybe I'm missing out on something?
Like Jake I find the most relevant stuff to be technique pieces, but why get the opinion of one person (a pro) when you can get the opinions of people more likely to match your experiences on here?

I subscribe to Todays Golfer, it seems to be a bit more lighthearted than rest.

take it you read Golf Today as well then Alan, wasn't that the cause of an outburst about excessive bunker escape tips?

I personally find golf mags boring - they ought to spice them up a bit.

The sport just is not damn sexy enough.

teh golf mags are good for flicking through, like on a train or plane. not much more - the product reviews are all positive, mainly because most golf kit these days is good quality, and partly because teh journos get them free, or they're provided by teh advertisers of the magazines, I suspet. hard to get a true impression of the kit from people so much better than you, as well!

Why waste hard earned dosh on stupid magazines when all you need is here at Golf Magic. When was the last time you asked a magazine a question and got twenty replies.
The knowledge and experience on this site is worth more than all the mags put together.
Tell what magazine gives you Lionel Irons, a total genius, wether its tip and techniques or mind games he has all the answers.
Take my advice instead of throwing your money at magazines buy some beeter quality balls instead, that will do more for your game.

Todays Golfer has some reviews on courses in your neck of the woods Jim - Ive played some of them.
Oh dear - looking at it again, it is an advertising feature, look at www.golfing.visitwales.com for same info and save £3-10.
You are absolutely right - with the Internet who needs mags.

Nick or anyone else struggling to improve their bunker play - there is the inevitable two pages on that.

Where to get your fill of golf info? Golf news is best covered by newspapers, sky sports, and websites like this one or the bbc. Mags are for instruction, equipemtn review and feature pieces. I can't help agreeing with Lionel about Today's Golfer and instruction - a million ways to tell us how to get out of the sand. Interactive, constant Q&A like on this forum, is quite alot more practical and helpful... unless you find yourself in the sand all the time, which I msut say sounds familiar.

Golf mags - great for reading on the plane or by the pool when you go on holiday. Not quite so good for reading at the office, when you're trying to give the impression that you're hard at work on your computer!!

Far from it. I seem to get to spend less time in the GOLFmagic forum than most people do - which is a disgrace.
