Has anyone tried or got one of these. I am hoping to go to american golf discount this week and try some drivers and this is definately on my list. What do you think of it???

Thanks
Nicola :)

Is this the ft3
If so i think its potentially the best driver they have ever made, and the amount of weight they have been able to move should make a difference to ball flight orientation

I have an original fusion with an Aldila stiff shaft sitting in my garage and looking for a new home, offers accepted.....

Tuffs been shopping again?

the description says Callaway ERC Fusion + Driver.

is that right Exmax....you rate it do you?

WHen you reckon SMT will launch a carbon crown driver?

Is the Callaway ERC Fusion + Driver going to be legal after 2008? I do not think it is (correct me if i am wrong).

Maybe that is why there are some good deals out there.

Still 2008 is a way off yet and many a good golf shot can be had with the cally until then.

Poults funny you should say that i was just about to ask. I don't think it is either and i don't want to spend £200 on a driver that i won't be able to use in a couple of years time. I am also looking at the Callaway big bertha 454 driver and the big bertha + driver.
Anyone tried these?

The + version is not R&A conforming after 2008.

Wickawer, check that the BB+ is not similarly affected before you buy. The 454 is conforming.

Just had a look at the list on the R&A website and the only one that is conforming out of the three is the 454 like you said martin. So my list of drivers i wanted to try has been cut down.

I rate what it says it can do and it is probably the best configuration for changing ball flight orientation far better than the r5 r7 or other movable weight clubs
SMT already have a standard carbon top head called the Babylon 425cc head price of £86 there are no weights in this head per say but it does produce a higher launch angle

Wickawer - What do you think the chances are that the salesperson at AGD would have told you that it will be non conforming?

I am glad you found out first. The 454 is a lovely club and a great substitute.

I know what you mean poults. They would of just said that they didn't know or that it was to make a sale so i'm glad i found out first. I am going to go to AGD this week and will try the 454, if i decide to buy it though i will get it elsewere as AGD are charging £179.99 where as completegolfer.co.uk are charging £165 and they are throwing in 6 big bertha golf balls free.
Thanks for the help everyone.

Are you going to the lakeside shop nic? If you were thinking about it you could take a diversion to direct golf off of the A12. They have a proper range where you can try the clubs properly and they're cheaper than AGD

Hi rob, no i'm not going to lakeside. I'm going to go to the nearest AGD and try out some drivers and see which i like best but i won't buy it from there as i have a load of websites in my favourites which are cheaper then AGD.

I went to AGD today. Tried 3 drivers, the callaway 454, Ram FX9 and the king cobra 355 sz. Tried them on the machine but did not buy anything as i said before they are more expensive. Have just ordered the club that was best for me which turned out to be the king cobra :) I got it £13 cheaper then american golf but i still saved money so i don't care.
Also had a couple of hits with the callaway fusion irons, the ones with the black back, they are VERY NICE.
Someone stop me quick before i get myself in debt.

There is no stopping you now. It is known as "the curse of golf" - the need to spend money on items you do not really need.

Just ask my missus she will tell you.

Buy it buy it!!!! They'll last at least as long as it takes to pay them off! :o)
Show/hide user stats
STOP IT STOP IT. There is no way i could afford them and i've only had my ones i've got at the moment for 4 months. The callaway x18's were nice as well

But if you bought them you could use them for a few months while you pay off half the credit card bill, then sell them and buy the next set that takes your fancy! lol
