I am looking to replace my Wilson Prostaff woods. MY Budget is £150/club and i want Driver + 3 Wood with Steel shaft. By far and away the club that has the best reviews on the internet is the PING I3 Drivers + Fairway Woods, they are as low as £130/club. Others that I have been looking at are Adams GT/ST woods, Titleist 975F + PT and Orlimar HIP. WHat would be your own reccomendations

Hi Charlie,

I would have a look at the Taylor Made 200 series, especially for the 3 wood. I've got one with a stiff steel shaft and reckon it's the best 3 wood I've had.
With steel shafted drivers, have a look at Callaway Steel heads. You should be able to pick one up within your budget.

Charlie,

I play a Taylor Made R360 driver and Ping i3 3&5 woods. If you look on the review section you'll see that I really rate both types of clubs well.

I know you can pick up 360's at £150 and R360's at £199 (but you can trade in your old driver remember). The i3's are at £125 with steel shafts.

Wrong already, I got a brochure from American Golf Discount this morning. The R300 series are now at £169.

Charlie,

I play the Ping I3 driver and fairway woods (3&5) with regular steel shafts and graphite for the driver. I can't recommend them enough! Especially the 3 & 5 woods are starting do make wonders for me during the last couple of weeks of very rainy golf rounds...

About the only bad thing with these woods is that the velcro that closes the headcover wears out awfully quick leaving the covers prone to fall off...

Anyways, don't count on reviews on the internet alone. Get out there and try out as many clubs as possible before committing to a purchase.
