I am a 13 handicapper (12.7) and I want to change my irons. Currently I use Mcgregor 501s with graphite shafts. I have a Wilson Deep Red driver, 3 and 5 woods. I am very happy with my woods. At the moment (since last August) I'm playing the best golf of my life. I have come down from 15.3 in that time. I am a fit 45 years old and during the summer months I practice once a week and play once (twice at the most) per week. I am willing to spend between EUR250 and EUR500. Like most golfers I am confused by the range of equipment available.
I would be grateful if you could offer some help.

i might not be the best at suggesting clubs but if you want to go have a look at

www.directgolf.co.uk

it has a great selection of clubs for cheap prices and they deliver quickly.....

...for example there are a set of snake eyes python irons for only 348.60 euro which is in your budget and lets you spend the rest of the money on something else..

hoped this info helped

ohhh i see you using the euro sign are you from ireland or where???? if you dont mind me for asking because i think i am the only person from ireland, dublin on golfmagic

cheers

Python irons are more aimed at high-handicappers - very wide soles and deep cavities (but great clubs - my son has a set).
From the Snake Eyes range there are the 600B/C range. Forged and soft feel, you can mix and match the bladed B's (for the shorter irons) with the shallow cavity C's (for the longer irons. Would definitely suit someone mid-handicap and improving. There is a ebay trader who offers a huge range of Snake Eyes stuff and could build shafts and grips to spec (I have no link to this trader).

If you are interested in a good set of quality forged clubs I have just put a set in the classifieds on here. The rifle shafts they have stiil give the sort of height you may be used to playing graphite shafts.
