Hi guys, looking for any recommendations for golf practice mats. I have done a search on Tinternet but could only find two UK based re-salers and they are:

Can anyone else recommend a site? Anybody actually got a setup with a practice mat and net?

Sorry I can't help, but don't be surprised if Creosote comes along and recommends you buy a whole golf course. Well you might as well enjoy your practice with those shiny new blades, eh?

Buy Today's Golfer magazine and look at the adds near the back lots of companies selling matts and practise nets.

Thanx Chimp, have had a look at those ads. golfnetsonline and golfaids are same company. Cant seem to find any others. There are loads in the USA however!

Looking for a practise putting matt for myself so have no ideas. Dont really need the floodlights though :)

My only experience of them is they were buying Rotanet (the company) when I a Rotanet (the net). Their customer service was pretty helpful when the courier mislaid one one the packages.

Well, I do have a mat, Golftek sensor Board with mat surround, PC and software for sale but it's probably more than you're looking for right now! If interested, drop me a line - I'm off to Denmark next week for good so I'll take a half decent offer for it! The sensor board alone is £2500

nulli - what do you want the mat for? backgarden or...?
i ask because i got a 2quid door matt which is green astroturf type stuff and works well as a rough substitute. i've only hit airflow balls of it last summer, as i don't trust myself with real golf balls in my back garden. :)

Found them when I was considering changing part of the lawn to a practice putting/chipping surface.

Hi MisterS3, I Want the mat for outdoor use in the garden to go with a net. 118golf have them but they are £50...I suppose I could use a doormat type mat but I need a bit of cushioning as my back garden is paved....no grass here, only on the front lawn and that is hollowed turf!

So looks like I will have to sacrifice the cash instead of taking the wife out this weekend....such a shame!

What about building your self a sandbox. Any mis hits really show up if you dont hit the ball cleanly from sand.

Nulli the thing i have its fine then. Well if you can stick it to some rubber/thick underlay. :)
But its a cheapy option. Might be better to spend a wee bit of cash than break your wrists! If you want a photo of it email me.

I bought a practice net from Nevada Bob's last year that also had a mat included, along with 'range style' tee.
I got that fed up having to assemble the framework for the net, that I threaded the washing line through the eyelets, so now I only have to pull the net across and secure it with a peg.

Oh...and the mat is quite thick so you can use it on the paving slabs, provided you don't usually take divots the size of a small country !!

I think this mat is about 2cm thick. 1cm of rubber and 1cm of turf. 4` x 3` and the net is one of those pop up nets!

Why not see if your range has any old ones they are selling off? My local was flogging them for £25 just before xmas
