Hi,
Does anyone know where you can purchase Galvin Green rain jackets at the cheapest price, either online or in the SW London/Surrey area ? Having looked around they seem extremely expensive and one does not fancy the idea of parting with 190 quid for one !
Cheers, James.

Hi, You could try here: PHIPPS GOLF Boldon Golf Club Dipe Lane East Boldon Tyne & Wear
Tel. 0191 536 5835
They have a good stock of Galvin green gear and im sure they will be able to post it on to you.

I understand that there is a fixed price policy for galvin Green stuff. I have a jacket and trousers and fel that they are good value for money.
You will not find a better peice of rain equipment than the G Green, expensive yes, worth every penny, yes.Paclite weighs as much as plastic bag and doesn't rustle in the rain and is welded seams for waterproofing, sizes are undersized so don't mail order but any Nevada Bobs will sort you out. Tightwad.

Del Trotter can usually fix you up with anything your after, very cheap. As long as you dont mimd it being "a bit iffy" If del's not about, See mike at The Nag's Head Peckham, South London.

www.scottsdalegolf.co.uk they stock all the galvin greeen gear. I have both trousers and jacket i good investment !
Just purchased a G.G jacket.....Totally 100 percent waterproof and light as a piece of a4 paper.Very expensive at £200 but will keep you completely dry, don't skimp on waterproofs, bite the bullet and get yourself some. Never thought i'd spend so much on a wafer light jacket but stand in the rain in one and watch the rain bead off it like a newly waxed car!!!!

I was in Phipps Golf @ Boldon Golf Club yesterday and they have some bargains for round about £100.00 choice of colours and sizes is a bit restricted though
It's irrelevant really how much you spend but if you get wet?,it's wasted. Mine has been all over the world with me as a jacket i wear out too, Don't mail order whatever you do,they are at least two sizes smaller than you imagine. Bought the short sleeved as well for light rain, awesome too. Leggings wash just as good also.
As a matter of interest, what material are they made from ?
 Gore Tex most of them.
Anorak time, excuse the pun. One of the goretex membranes contains more than nine billion microscopic pores per square inch with each pore smaller than a water droplet or snow so it can't penetrate but has the ability to breathe as well as you make half a litre of sweat playing golf. The pores are larger than vapour so it escapes. It has to withstand a kneel test on wet ground and show no water ingress. Howdidido?.

Happy Gil "More" - Did you get the Arnie jacket or the Anson?
Paclite,in short and long sleeves,I think its the arnie, short sleeved was the Albin but same design ,just short sleeves.
Also read in a UK golf mag recently CG are the only ones offereing a lifetime warranty on waterproofing - this should justify the price. Goretex is the best and dont skimp on it, as heavy prolonged downpours can wreck your round - if you buy cheaper so called weather proof jackets.
I have about 3 G-tex suits/jackets and my old Freestyle mountainbiking jacket is still working perfectly after 15 years.

Have been wearing the same Galvin waterproofs for 3 years now and they still keep me absolutely Bone Dry every time! So much so I would say they give me at least a 4 shot start on anyone not wearing decent waterproofs when the skys open!

Rob - your picture is on a par with Hacker for the ugly prize. Ugh.
