Have to say, i bought the 65i's over a year ago and they are still going strong! Having said that, once you progress enough you'll have a go with a mate's MP-60's and be very jealous...

Well many thanks for the flurry of comments.

About a month ago I returned the full set and was "offered" a set of steel's and a "sorry for the problem" payment.

Steels had an impact on my game. I used to be able to slice to perfection, and now can hook (almost as well as the silicon prozzy).

This means the set I play with now cost be about £4 a stick - and resulted in my first two sub 100 rounds.

I shall retain these till they start to fall apart - see how my game is going - and decide then about investing in something like a £15 a stick set.

I thought about the steel set aswell. They should be fine (at least in terms of shaft seperation issues). I decided to say goodye to dunlop 65i though ... after the arguement with the manager :)

I now have a set of Howson tourline (bought for just £40 off ebay brand new). They are heavier than other clubs I have used, and I'm getting used to them now. Great value though.

eBay seems the way to go then - some good value there, it seems. Having said that, I've just been down the range at lunchtime, and quite honestly no set of clubs in the world is going to sort THAT mess out. However, any club that doesn't make my hands sting when I shank another shot would be a bonus.

Amazing how a bad practice session can leave you grumpy for the rest of the day!

I bought a set of 65i graphite from Sportsworld in May. After approx 15 rounds & 10 visits to the driving range i too have found that my 3 iron head has slipped from the shaft.after giving it a checking over my asst pro mate in Huddersfield says it won't(hopefully!) fly off during a round.after reading the comments i'm off to Sportsworld tomorrow for a new 3 iron tho.still think they're great starter clubs & where i play lots of people have bought the steel shafts re price and moan about the weight when feeling the graphites.worth the extra few quid i reckon.

if the shaft has slipped DONT play with it - if its just ferrule creep re glue it back into position.
How much are these clubs selling for ?

Bought mine for £59.99, 3-SW & 1,3,5 wood.have now seen them at £89.99.
Am sure is not ferrule creep & now have the receipt so am exchanging the 3 iron tomorrow.
By the way, I used to use my step fathers Ping Zing 2"s & think the 7 -SW Dunlops have a much better feel, distance&accuracy(based on my game) but i hit straighter with the 3-6 Pings.
Time to mix the bag maybe to suit or 50 visits to the range with Dunlop 3-6 & iron out the straight's slowing the swing yet further. Watch this space!
Think i'll save for a set of Ping G5's in the meantime!

Having now played 3 rounds with the steel replacements to my previous graphites (yes still the 65's) the difference I have noted is that I pull the shots to the left. Something I have never done before as I always seems to push to the right. However, having said that I also had the best round I have ever played - so all cannot be bad.

Played a couple of shots with a set of Pings and was scared witless when the guy told me the cost per club. Still, if I manage to string a few more decent rounds together then I might consider a change - but the problems right now aint the clubs, the problems are down to teh club wielder.

I had a set of 65i for about a year and they weren't too bad for the money. I have to say that yes, the driver is unforgiving and i now have the slazenger k1 speed which is expensive but worth every penny. Never had any trouble with the the heads or shafts with the 65i and i got on with them really well but you can tell the difference when you step up a class in clubs. you can spend 120 quid and get wilsons from jjb!
