Cobra Baffler, Mizuno Hi Fli or Taylormade Rescue Mid. Which is the best long iron/wood alternative off the tee ?

I often use the 18 degree Mizuno Fli-Hi, it is superb, regulary 230-240yds.It is so easy to hit,but I must say not the club to use in a strong head wind, although I have used it back in my stance to good effect.
Worth a try, they have them cheap at Online golf.

Tom

Suggest you hit all of them on a driving range...the one that feels great to you and there will be one, buy it. You can't argue with the quality of all on your list; down to personal preference.

Paul, I agree with what you say, it`s just that the Mizuno suits me, as with buying any club try before you buy.

Apologies but my comment wasn't in anyway critical of your choice, I was merely pointing out to Tom that as you say, try before you buy is a must.

I've recently changed from using a Cobra baffler to a TM mid rescue, due to the TM being much easier to hit consistantly straight.

I've got the equivalent of a 4 and 5 iron in the bag.

Cheers

In my humble opinion the TM Rescue Mid is one of the best golf clubs around at the moment - it's so good it's almost cheating!

For ages I carried a 24deg Swilkin which I bought from County Golf for £50. But recently I tried the TM number 4 22deg and fell in love. It's great in all circumstances off the tee, long approach shots, out of rough, chips round the green... This week I ordered the number 2 16deg and wait with eager anticipation for it to arrive.

I first saw the club used to great effect at Wentworth by Monty - who carries two and no other fairway woods, and some of you might have seen the approach by Jonathon Kaye (winner of last weeks US tour event) hit a 250y + cracker of a shot with the RM number 2 to the par 5 last in the play off with Rollins - he holed the put for eagle and won the event.

I have the regular, graphite shaft and paid £110. Of course you should try it first but I would be surprised if you don’t immediately go out and buy one….

Good to hear all this positive stuff about Rescue clubs. If you haven't already, it would be appreciated if your observations can be translated into the User Review section (http://www.golfmagic.com/review/review.asp?sp=&v=2) - they might even win you a prize.

Kasco K2K is the best. The ball flies off the club face. The Mizuno is hard to hit and I felt it was a little dead. I could hit my 3 iron much better than the Mizuno
