 Reason I ask, was out today and there was a bit of a chill in the air and a fair bit of cloud cover. Chances of rain quite high but also high chance it would only be patchy showers.
Anyway since I started carrying I try to take as little as possible (You know where this is going) So ditched the waterproof trousers and jacket, brolly is more hassle than its worth so leave that behind. So armed with only a cap and shower proof windshirt off I went.
Hole 1 - break in the clouds. Looking good.
Hole 2 - Quite busy being held up, clouds getting darker.
Hole 3 - Some light drizzle, no problem.
Hole 4 - Proper rain, on with wind shirt and cap.
Hole 5 - Downpour, really wet groups in front walk off (wimps).
Hole 6 - Rain stopped dried off by hole 7 finished my round course to my self.
Windshirt did me proud and is much easier to carry than the jacket and a cap is easier to manage than a brolly not as effective, although might just leave the waterproof trousers in the bag. Although I do seldom use them in the summer as it can get a bit too hot even in the rain.

 I dont carry anything, just what I am wearing, and no brolly. I try and avoid being on a golf course if it rains, but if it does I get wet. If it rains a lot I leave. Life is too short to stand around in the middle of nowhere getting drench for the sake pretending one is having fun.

 Before winter I treated myself to a Snake Eyes breathable rain suit with detachable sleeves at the elbow, folded takes up v.little space and weight.
The best bit is the bucket style hat (round) with trim. Played in very heavy rain, didn't need an umbrella and came in bone dry.

 i have a stand bag with all the gubbings for rain(waterproofs, caps, 2 all-weather glove so i can change if they get too wet, umbrella,......) and a titleist pencil bag with no wet weather stuff( and god does it feel good when your bag is so light).
hopefully ill be using the latter far more this summer

 Where do I start???
Waterproof suit,bucket hat,winter mitts,wool hat(in case of cold) a couple of towels,umbrella and 2 gloves dry & wet weather.
No wonder my bag weighs so much!!!

 Got stuck in a medal yesterday - pouring with rain all the way round - played crap! Unfortunately for me, the guy I was playing with, and whose card I was marking, was having a great round - I'm sure he has webbed feet, so I couldn't just wander off, as I was intending. Anyway, I'm wearing full wet weather gear, and a wilson staff baseball cap. Dry, apart from the feet.
So, when I walk into the bar, there is a shout of laughter, and some smartarse asks me where the axeman is? Turns out the RED wilson hat has run its dye into my hair and streaked all down the sides of my face, looked like I had been mistaken for a baby seal in Iceland!
Moral - don't play in the bloody! rain!

 I arm myself with the weather forecast. If I don't like it, I don't play. Call me a blouse if you will, but I derive no pleasure from playing golf in wet conditions - what's that shooting off down the fairway? Oh, it's my "slippery when wet" 3 wood. Grrrrrr.

 I always carry waterproofs and an umbrella. Except when there is no chance of rain at all & the summer pencil bag comes out...

 I always thought naked skin was the best protection to water you could find Sam. ;-)
I'd defy anyone to have kept dry in the strom I was in the other day. I ended having to make an impromptu tent under a tree, utilising my golf umbrella and some waterproofs. It was biblical, the worsed I've been out in. I played on though, gotta get me fix!

indeed. Also spikes are not allowed as they would damage the greens, so it's flip-flops or wellies only
