 Hi Guys,
I played with my partners irons some time back and hit them great. He's a senior and has senior shafts in his clubs.
I'm considering playing a softer shaft in my irons as I'm now a weedy 9 1/2 stoner. Anyone else play ladies shafts and find them easier?

No but I did try to get a nasty bright Pink shaft in my new driver, only to have my hopes dashed bcoz of very poor customer service.
Thanks Grafalloy / True temper...

perhaps a tin of spray paint?

Get down the gym dear boy.
|
 |
Ant, my loss of weight is due to a long-term illness. going down the gym isn't an option, dear boy.

Dean, how long did you get to play the senior clubs for? if it was only for a couple of holes I'd try to get your playing partner to let you play a couple of rounds with them, just to make sure, if you still like the softer shafts I'd say go for it!.

 Hi Spanky,
It was for a few rounds.
I came back to golf after 5 years out and could hardly swing my old clubs which I played to single figures with - they felt so damn heavy!
As we were using a buggy Peter offered to let me hit his. Graphite shafts and nice a whippy. I managed to hit the ball almost my old distances with these.
Are senior flex and ladies flex about the same generally??

Ladies/senior shafts are denoted by the flex. I.e. more flex (for a given swing speed/load applied) and thus more power (distance) exerted by the shaft (the "whip"). Also gives higher ball flight. Such high torque shafts typically are associated with less precision. But do note also the WEIGHT. Ladies/senior shafts are supposed to be lighter (= higher swing speed = more distance) but this does vary depending on the quality of shaft. You may find that an ultra-light reg' flex shaft gives the same effect as a medium weight ladies/senior flex shaft, but with more precision. Or combine both for the ultimate distance and height of ball flight. My son has Grafalloy Attacklite senior flex shafts in his irons - with great results.

Note to mods - please delete this thread, it's all becoming rather uncomfortable.

Now, now gents - it's all becoming a little personal...
What I get up to with my pink shaft is really none of your business.
he he hee (well it is Friday!)

 Dunc,
At least you've got the build and swing speed to pull it off......
God..it's getting worse
|
 |
back to sanity the ladies and senior shafts are in most cases the same shaft just sprayed differently for 2 seperate markets just that some guys wont play with champagne coloured shafts so the a flex is sprayed dk grey or black

Thanks, Emax, that makes a lot of sense. I'm going to get hold of some second-hand irons from ebay and give them a whirl.
