Is there a big difference between this type of jacket and the Galvin Green or Sunderland ?

by all accounts the GG is the dogs. I'm saving up to get one - I had nearly had enough then blew it on two new wedges :-)

tried on the Galvin Green today normally XL but even the XXL was tight, time for something else I think.

Last Jedi where did you get your goretex at £59 from ?

There was a test in this months TG mag, proquip silk touch jacket at £239 came top, Galvin green at £389 for jacket and trousers came second. I'm sorry but those prices are crazy for something I'm only going to wear one a week or twice at most (and then in winter mainly)... I've got the Mizuno tour rainsuit, cost £160 for jacket and trousers and keeps me dry.

They do seem a little of the expensive side

I have a Proquip and its excellent, but except for the very coldest days I cook inside it and any other of these waterprooof jackets. I prefer the sleeveless lightweight Footjoy. Keeps the rain off, lightweight and doesnt restrict your movement.

I just bought a Galvin Green Ace jacket and Alf tousers. They were given their first outing and one of the best tests you can get. I was in Scotland at the weekend, strong winds and heavy showers all day - I did not overheat, even though I was also wearing a lambs wool sweater, nor did I get wet, well apart from my head - need to get a decent hat next.

If you want to keep dry, there is only one choice in my book, Galvin Green.
