Rifle Shaft???
What does it mean?

Looking at a Mizuno F50 3 wood, and notice that a range of shaft options exist, namely:

Graphite
Steel (Stiff or Regular)
Custom Rifle Shaft (5.5 or 6.6)

So what is the difference between a 5.5 Rifle shaft and a Steel Standard flex? Price is the same, so what to go for? Any pros and cons?

Cheers

Matt

This is a good resource for comparison. If you don't understand the fatcs'n'figures, and what they mean, post follow-up questions. There's a few of us on here who've done a lot of reading on this kind of thing, and some clubfitting specialists who will know even more than us geeks ...

Rifle don't label their shafts R, F, S, X, they number them. I use 5.0 for example, which is F (Firm), somewhere between R and S. But it has a mid kickpoint (near the middle of the shaft) to control shot trajectory.
