Following on from an absolute drenching on Friday afternoon (started raining when we stepped onto the first tee and DIDN'T STOP!!), I'm after a new golf bag. Preferably a carry and cart bag and has to be waterproof (if such a thing exists) as it's taken 2 days to dry out the kit that is in my current bag. I know I could put the clothing in a plastic bag, but I can't do that with the clubs....?!?!?!

Any recommendations gladly received.

As I said in my post about Ogio bags, the only complaint I have about my Grom is that it gets completely soaked through when it rains. Because of this, and after reading the GolfMagic Guide to Waterproofing (!!!) I bought a bottle of NikWax Tent & Gear Proof (£5.99 for 500ml). I applied it last Thursday, expecting to get drenched on the course at the weekend to see how good it was but it was a beautiful day on Saturday so didn't get to try it out. It appears to contain silicon and from just splashing some water on once it had fully dried in it seemed to do the job. I'll let you know more once I've been out in the rain though if you're interested.

That's why I have got a tour bag and a lecky trolley to lug it about with. And the fact that the umbrealla holder on the trolley gives me a third hand when I need it to help keep things dry...

And I can carry 2 sets of waterproofs and umpteen gloves and towels

Hadn't thought about proofing the material myself. I use Nikwax products to great effet for my various waterproofs so will try the Tent & Gear proofer too.

Get a Powercady rain cover for your bag. Loads better than the clear pvc ones.
