How are adidas tour 360 shoes a related product?
I recommend a Titleist 905R or 905T. Good feel and will hit it on a lower flight than most. You could just put a low launching shaft in your TM

Why do you need a driver if you hit a 3 wood further than 230 yrds ? Unless you are playing a course of par 5s, surley this is not necessary ? or is it just me ?

 |
try playing carnoustie again in the wind with a three wood and not a driver

 Philip,
my advice is go to your local range and try everyone they have, if they don't have many go to another range. Don't just stick to stiff either give the regular a go. If you can get to any demo days then do it.
I personally use a Taylor Made Quad 9.5 degree in stiff shaft. This does give a lowish ball flight, flight monitor records it as 13.5 degree, with low back spin at 2500rpm. My good shot is low draw with loads of run but this still bottoms out at about 270 Sunday best. I also tried the TM Super Quad(black one) on the flight monitor in 10.5 regular shaft. It surprised me how much difference there was between the two. 1 degree more loft and down to a regular shaft really changed the ball flight 15.5 degree lift off with 3800 back spin.
The point I am trying to make is you will spend alot of money on a driver so give yourself the best chance of making a good decision.
Be careful when hitting in the range, often they can have a strong wind which you don't feel in the bay. ie tail wind helping you hit it 290 with a fade, could be a 220 yrd slice in a head wind. This is why I liked the flight monitor.

Philip I have been told that nowadays you want to hit it HIGH for distance. I also play on a very windy links golf course. At a TM demo day at the club I found I was hitting the TM Burner HT with a stiff shaft by far the best. The pro said that even into a head wind this would still be the best for distance due to the ball flight and spin. Have ordered it but has not arrived yet. A brilliant club and have also ordered the 3 wood.

 John,
Hitting it high into a head wind may be ok, although I expect it would hit distance severely.
But what about cross winds ?
I wouldn't fancy hitting it high with cross winds.
Please let us know how you get on. I have been thinking about getting a higher lofted driver and have one for windy days and one for still days.
Are you a good driver of the ball ?

I think Philip may have found a new Driver by now - he was looking back in November of last year!
