I am a good but "older" golfer. I still hit the ball a good distance but my swing speed has understandably dropped as I am now 71. I have always played a Titleist Pro Vi all year round. However, I have for the past two months tried the Titleist PTS Solo which is also reviewed in the February edition of "Today's Golfer" along with just about every golf ball available.

According to Titleist's own website AND the TG review it is an IDEAL ball for a slower swinger, the hang time is longer than almost every other ball and it spins fairly well. Our Pro is selling these at £18 for 12!

Try also the Wilson LX2. It's the ladies version of the DX2.
Has very soft feel and thus is my go-to ball when temperatures drop to less than 5deg.
It is also very great in flight - nice and high and gives the lowest side-spin of any ball I've found - i.e. seems to really reduce my fade/slice.
Price is good (although only 9 per box). Tell your friends that Lx stands for Low compression.
