As the thread title says, what is the difference between a soft and firm tip?

This isn't a joke so don't think there is a punchline, I'm after a draw driver and have both as an option.

I think soft tip is where the bottom of the shaft is more flexible, resulting in a higher launch and ball flight. A stiffer tip will probably give a lower launch but a bit more control.

As I understand it, a softer tip gives a higher launch - if you have a natural low trajectory, a softer tip may help get it nearer the ideal launch angle (which I believe is about 12-15 degrees, higher for slower swings).
