I am going to the Ping fitting center at St Andrews to be fitted for a new driver soon, has anyone been and can they let me know what they thought of it?
Be sure to bring along your golf shoes, glove and current driver/wood you use off the tee. You'll be able to compare results more accurately. You might even want to bring along your normal golf ball, so you can hit that into a net while on the launch monitor. Will give the fitter more accurate numbers to work with. They might even suggest a change of golf ball? If you haven't been on a launch monitor before, you might be suprised by your numbers like distance, launch angle, etc. They use a Trackman launch monitor I think, so pretty accurate.
If you get a chance, worth asking if you can try a shorter G5 driver shaft irrespective of your height. Ping's standard is 45.75", which is fine if you can control it but some golfers can get better results with a shorter shaft.
