Hi, I'm new to GolfMagic and have been reading a few reviews of electric golf trolleys.
I simply must mention my PowerPro Sport 250 which I purchased 3 months ago via the internet on
www.powerprogolf.com after seeing it in a golf magazine.
This has been a truly excellent buy - the best trolley I've ever had, including a Powakaddy. I play off 8 handicap, so my trolley gets a fair amount of use.
I was initially attracted by the 2 year Parts & Labour Warranty - I know from experience that electric trolleys do go wrong - especially after the normal 1 year warranty runs out, so I was looking for some peace of mind. I figured that if the manufacturer is prepared to give a 2 year warranty, they must reckon its going to last the course or they'd be out of pocket.
I was immediately struck by its looks and quality of construction - very similar to the Freeway with a good folding mechanism. The frame is aluminium alloy with stainless steel fixings - weighs only 8kg - and appears very strong. There is a quality feel to the whole machine. I chose the 28amp hour battery. The starter model has a 20AH battery , enough for 18 holes and is only £169.99 - delivered! The 28AH version I bought was £189.99. There is also a big 36AH battery. I ordered it on a Monday afternoon and it was delivered on Tuesday morning!!
In use the trolley has been excellent. Very powerful and quiet. I play at Mentmore and we have a lot of steep hills on the Rosebery course - absolutely no problem for the Powerpro. The battery appears to be excellent - it is an SDC type - and manages 27 holes with no problem (the green battery lights are still on!). It has even managed 36 on a couple of occasions but I don't do this regularly. The trolley folds and unfolds in seconds and the click-locks are smooth and positive. The battery is held on very firmly with velcro straps. I'm up and running in seconds.
Criticisms? I really don't have any. I guess the carry bag supplied could be a bit stronger, but its doing the job OK. Also the speed control is 'soft start' and just a tad slow to reach full walking pace. The scorecard holder also has 'shot counter' - I hate those things!
I have had no problems or issues with the trolley so I don't know what their service is like, but they were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable when I purchased the trolley. I think the trolley is an absolute bargain. Well made, powerful and reliable along with a 2 year warranty for less than £200 - who could ask for more! Half the price and twice the warranty of a Powakaddy, and in my opinion, even better. I would recommend this trolley to anybody - its great.
