Hi, I'm new to GolfMagic and have been reading a few reviews of electric golf trolleys.

I simply must mention my PowerPro Sport 250 which I purchased 3 months ago via the internet on www.powerprogolf.com after seeing it in a golf magazine.

This has been a truly excellent buy - the best trolley I've ever had, including a Powakaddy.  I play off 8 handicap, so my trolley gets a fair amount of use.

I was initially attracted by the 2 year Parts & Labour Warranty - I know from experience that electric trolleys do go wrong - especially after the normal 1 year warranty runs out, so I was looking for some peace of mind. I figured that if the manufacturer is prepared to give a 2 year warranty, they must reckon its going to last the course or they'd be out of pocket.

I was immediately struck by its looks and quality of construction - very similar to the Freeway with a good folding mechanism. The frame is aluminium alloy with stainless steel fixings - weighs only 8kg - and appears very strong. There is a quality feel to the whole machine. I chose the 28amp hour battery. The starter  model has a 20AH battery , enough for 18 holes and is only £169.99 - delivered! The 28AH  version I bought was £189.99. There is also a big 36AH battery. I ordered it on a  Monday afternoon and it was delivered on Tuesday morning!!

In use the trolley has been excellent. Very powerful and quiet. I play at Mentmore and we have a lot of steep hills on the Rosebery course - absolutely no problem for the Powerpro. The battery appears to be excellent - it is an SDC type - and manages 27 holes with no problem (the green battery lights are still on!). It has even managed 36 on a couple of occasions but I don't do this regularly. The trolley folds and unfolds in seconds and the click-locks are smooth and positive. The battery is held on very firmly with velcro straps. I'm up and running in seconds.

Criticisms? I really don't have any. I guess the carry bag supplied could be a bit stronger, but its doing the job OK. Also the speed control is 'soft start' and just a tad slow to reach full walking pace. The scorecard holder also has 'shot counter' - I hate those things!

I have had no problems or issues with the trolley so I don't know what their service is like, but they were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable when I purchased the trolley. I think the trolley is an absolute bargain. Well made, powerful and reliable along with a 2 year warranty for less than £200 - who could ask for more! Half the price and twice the warranty of a Powakaddy, and in my opinion, even better. I would recommend this trolley to anybody - its great.

Can't comment on the trolley, however I have used these people for a new trolley battery. It was delivered on the Tuesday, the order being placed on the Sunday evening....so non too shabby.

I would use them again.

Thanks Kentish, The 2 year warranty makes me think it's worth a go, I can't bring my self to spend over 200 quid on one, and I'm not sure about the look of the Go Kart.

I have a powerpro sport 250 trolley and I have been very pleased with it. Had it 9 months and so far no problems at all. Good on hills, very quiet and folds/unfolds easily and is really well built. The price included a carry bag too. Several friends have bought the same as it is excellent value and they have been very pleased. However I know one had a problem with the speed switch but when he phoned with the problem they sent a new one which arrived next day. I liked the idea of a two year warranty. Does anyone else do a 2 year warranty? If not, why not? You pay a lot of money for a trolley and surely 2 years is the least you should expect. So my advice is go and get a powerpro. If its as good as mine you won't be disappointed. Also they do a lot of goodies like umbrella holder, cool bag and a seat so if any of my family reads this, you know what I want for christmas!

Something not quite right Here .  Looks like a rather naughty sales campaign, caveat emptor so they say!

Sorry Ben_Dover if you think my views constitute a sales campaign because your comment is not only disparaging but questions my integrity. I am not associated with Powerpro in any way other than as a customer. My views may be very positive but they are honestly given. If you cannot post positive comments about good products then theres no point in having a forum. I think you owe me - and all the other contributors to this thread - an apology.

On the contrary, you may or may not be who you say, either way its best to ensure that all posts are checked for accuracy before submitting the post or to edit the post for inaccuracies, especially when praising a product in the manner you did then also getting your information so drastically wrong by your own admission.

If you don't want to raise suspicion in this or any other forum be more careful with the facts you attempt to submit.

Glennmac

I live quite near Mentmore which I have played a number of times.

I am trying to organise a group of GM members/posters (up to 7) to take and use one of my "Open Fairways"2 for 1 deals or 4 of us on a On Line Tee Times offer(usually better than 2 for 1).

If you and others in the Herts/Beds/Bucks area are interested please email me.They include some good local courses.

Blueball,

Ben_Dover owes no-one an apology. If anything you need to get a grip.

6 posts and you start lecturing people on how to behave. DDDOOOOHHHHHHH

Your post is either a sales pitch or given in naivety, you may think it is great and telling other people how great you think it is is fine.

But joining a forum, doing an extremely strong positive sales pitch and then getting all pompous when someone challenges your motives is ridiculous.

Don't be so sensitive. And please don't lecture others on how to behave when you seem to be confused about what is acceptable behaviour yourself.
