While trawling through various Golf related web sites and forums, (due to the rubish weather we've been having), I came across a Cool new golf ball with larger than usual numbers and a UV cover, (which glows in the Dark!!). The ball is made in Australia and, I believe, distributed here in the UK on behalf of SMT golf by Exmax at Midasgolf.(correct me if I'm wrong Shaun!).

Having read a few forums raving about the ball I contacted Exmax to see if they were available over here and he duly sent me a dozen to try out.

The ball is called the Vision and it is, (in my opinion), by far the coolest looking ball on the market, it comes in 3 different guises, the UV, the Artic White and the Expert.  have just managed to play a couple of rounds with these balls and have to admit I am mighty impressed.

The UV ball is, in my opinion, a superb winter ball, it really does give off a decent glow, (the nearest analogy is the glowing numbers on your watch when it's dark), and is near impossible to lose as you can see it for miles, although my Aussie chum, here visiting for Christmas did manage to lose one by whacking it miles into the undergrowth.....(he tends to have the same effect on all golf balls), distance is very good, (comparable carry to summer), and the ball seems to fly very straight too, which has helped me test out the durability as I haven't lost one yet after 4 rounds of golf and it still looks good for a few more rounds.

I haven't played the Expert/Pro Spin ball yet as conditions haven't meritted it but the Arctic White is a real contender for my game ball this year. It seems 'whiter' than other standard balls and I love the large numbering which really makes it stand out from the crowd.
As with the UV balls the Artic White seem to fly very straight and distance seems excellent, (bearing in mind I have been playing in temperatures of no higher than 6C here!). Feel off the putter is a very nice slightly firm, (somewhere around the feel of a ProV1x), and the ball seems to provide decent amounts of spin around the greens, tending to one-hop and check-up which is very controllable once you get the hang of it.

All in all these Balls seem like a winner, both my regular playing partners and I will be placing a few orders with Shaun very soon! The UV is an absolute cert for a winter golf ball and causes quite a stir at my local course when I put it in play, and I reckon the Arctic White will be an great budget ball in the warmer weather, well worth a look if you fancy something a little bit different without compromising on performance.

they're certainly striking in appearance. But the ones I've tried are much, much harder than a pro v. Having said that, I'm sure they're ideal for a winters day back home...brr...

Hi Alun,

I think the ones I tried were a new/updated version and the feel was really pretty good......I was certainly judging this when putting, (Scotty Cameron Blade), and they seemed more than acceptable to me.

I'll try them again next time I'm out and see what I think
