SMT Wedges. Great clubs, I just found that the spin generated was too much for me. Shaun did me custom grinds so I could lay them wide open. Have still got them, will come out again in the summer when the greens are rock hard. Encore - have still got fitted with the ICON heavyweight shaft. Nothin's gonna shift that baby from the bag. It's the oly driver that gets run for me, great low trajectory that I love (forget what the launch monitors say - I'll go with how the ball reacts, not a 13 degree launch angle, thanks anyway) Keep it up Mike...

Does anyone know how legal the milled faces of the SMT wedges are. Can they be used in competititon play? I only ask because the rules state: "Except for markings specified in the following paragraphs, the surface roughness within the area where impact is intended (the “impact area”) must not exceed that of decorative sandblasting, or of fine milling" It does not however state what is ment by fine milling.

Thanks for the reply re the Encore Mike. I am having problems with spin rate with the Encore Fuji 26.3 in X stiff (mid tip, mid midband and stiff butt). I am getting good launch but 6k spin, yet an FT5 with a Blueboard was giving me half that spin rate, hence why I asked where the cog is. swingspeed was ave 109, peak at 114, conforatble swings at 106, just didn't seem to make any difference. the FT5 had the same ballspeed as the Encore yet the swingspeed was 8mph less, due to spin rate I think

Marydoc. The milling is no different to what you will find on Spin Milled Vokeys. The SMT wedges are legal.

Ben got his 51 and 59 this weekend and the grind that Midas have done on each of them is superb. Ben is absolutely delighted with them and loved the little additional feature of the neat, unobtrusive, but much appreciated personalisation "Ben White - Custom Grind" on each hosel. Now I can reclaim my two SMT's back!
