I have recently bought the taylormade superquad driver with a mitsubishi rayon diamana 63g 35t stiff flex. although i have played around with the weights for sometime i am still unhappy with my ball flight. not sure if i would be suited or not with a new shaft? at the moment my ball flight is very low and i am not able to get the distance. the last driver i had was regular flex and the launch angle and distance i was happy with. only trouble i sliced the ball alot thats one of the reasons i went to stiff flex along with having a pretty fast swing. i thought a stiff flex would cure this along with the option in this driver to adjust the weights. the slicing of the ball is cured its just the height and distance!!! is it that i need a pro launch shaft? in regular or stiff? im just not sure and dont want to buy another shaft that is no good for me. has anyone else had a problem like this? any advice would be  appreciated thanks.

the trouble is you may have needed a stiffer shaft than you had in your last driver, but your last driver may have had a 'softish' regular shaft. The Diamana shafts are fairly sturdy shafts even in regular.   

42?  If it is, and it was tipped, then The Incredible Hulk couldn't get that up.  I suspect its 45 anyway, and the Blueboard is quite stiff to flex.

Anyway, it could be so many things making a guess exactly that, but a stab in the dark I would  say the slice is technique, and the lack of height is equipment. 

you could be measuring it wrong mate 42 is very short.

Did you buy this direct from a shop/pro, if not then id hazard a guess that the blueboard was installed after the club was bought with a stock shaft. If this is the case it could be installed incorrectly or tipped like WB said. The  blueboard is low spin compared to most shafts and lack of spin will give you the lack of height.

I have a bluebaord 73 stiff in a r7 425 and although its a stiffer feel then some its not the stoutest feeling shaft ever. Compared to say a v2 its pretty loose. 

Go see a pro or fitter and ask him to measure the club to see if it really is 42 inch.

Another thing is that if you was using a reg shaft before and was slicing the ball the last thing you would want to do is go stiffer. General rule of thumb is too stiff will slice and go low, too weak and you will hook and go high.

It could be a swing problem so again a visit to a pro will sort it out. 

He's probably measuring 42" of visible shaft. The way to measure is from the end of the grip down to the bottom of the heel in a straight line. The SQ head is quite deep, + the hosel, so it's probably 45".

FWIW, I hit a blueboard in reg, in a Titleist, and I thought it played pretty firm, though not like a poker (eg a V2)

if you go for it and it slices, does it not mean the shaft is too soft?

Everyone giving good advice, but its all guesses. best to go and see a pro who uses a launch monitor such as a trackman or vector. They will give you all the results you need to find the correct shaft.

It does sound like a stiff shaft is not the way forward if your hitting a slice a good reg shaft with a low kick might do the trick, but thats of course just my guess.

Damon if you imagine this it might help, when people say a shaft is too whippy what do you expect the clubhead to do.

If the shaft is too soft it would normally hook.

If you dont load the club enough or if you swing is of a slower tempo then a shaft that is too stiff will cause slices.

I would lay money that it is a swing fault though mate. I had the same problem a few years back and to be honest not even a regular shafted off set driver can take the right side out of play with the wrong swing.
