Not sure about stiffness

I've just bought a TM Burner rescue club, which I hit in the net at the shop, and which felt great. I already play TM driver and 3 wood, so I've got confidence in adding the TM rescue wood.

However, I noticed when I got home that that the rescue clulb has a regular shaft, whereas my driver and 3 wood  have stiff shafts. Should that matter? Would you normally have the same stiffness in all clubs? I haven't used it on the course yet. It felt right in the net, but now I'm not sure given it's different.

Any thoughts from anyone who knows on whether it matters or not to have different stiffness in clubs - particularly given they are woods?

Thanks!

The majority will have them the same flex (on the label at least) in the woods. If you hit it well on the course then do not give it a second thought. Reg/stiff denominations vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, and even within the same brand, and there is no standard for flexes. It can be measured on a frequency analyzer. If you hit it as well as you hit it in the net on the course, then don't worry about it.

Totally agree rgusa.  Do a search on this site and you will find that  a label of stiff, regular etc means absolutely nothing, even within the same manufacturer. There is only one true indication of shaft flex and that is cycles per minute (CPM), when the butt of the shaft is clamped and the tip twanged a machine reads the frequency of the shaft. Most players use different shafts in the 3 wood driver and hybrid, the shafts will quite often get heavier going from the driver down. I use a firm flex  (between regular and stiff) which is 57gramme in the driver and the CPM is 260, the 3 wood is heavier at 75 gramme and 270 CPM and my hybrid 80 gramme at 277 CPM which is very stiff. It is the same principle with irons in that the wedges should have stiffer flexes than the 3 iron  because they are shorter.
